Alicia Parra

Hello students, parents and families. My name is Alicia Parra. I am the Reading Interventionist for the school. I work with the students needing additional assistance in achieving proficiency in Reading. I work in coordination with the teachers to help the students advance in their regular classroom. I also work with the teachers in assisting students needing help with English as a Second Language (ESL). I have 25 + years of experience in both Reading and ESL. I am passionate about teaching students to be successful in their education. 

 

I was born and raised in South Texas.  I have two daughters, two son-in-laws and 5 grandchildren.  I have a Bachelor's degree from Texas A&M International University and a Master's degree in education and counseling from the University of Texas at San Antonio.  I love to travel and have been to Europe 3 times as part of my traveling experiences. I enjoy reading, and learning new things especially in technology and  gardening.
