Welcome all!

Hello everyone! My name is Ms. Bass and this is my second year at Southwest Preparatory School. I've been teaching for 14 years with a focus on reading and English.

 

I am the reading intervention teacher K-10 for the Northeast campus. I am very excited to work with you and your child(ren) this year! 

 

This is my fourth year living in Texas and I love it! I'm originally from Sioux City, IA and moved down here for the warmer weather. Hot, hot, and more hot! The sun is no joke. I have four cats so I love discussing pets with my students. Teaching is my passion. I'm very easy to talk to and love to hear from parents. Questions and ideas are welcome anytime. My goal is to provide a supportive, safe learning environment tailored to every student. I help my students develop a growth mindset and a love of reading.

 

I focus on building positive relationships with my students. I foster an atmosphere of openness and honesty, so anything a student wants to share or parents share with me is confidential and helps me to tailor my instruction. I meet my students where they are and recognize effort and positivity. I will do everything in my power to help your child(ren) succeed in ELAR this year!
