About Me
My name is Rose Marie Mercer. I have been teaching for 12 years, this is my 8th year at Southwest Prep. I was born in California but grew up in Guatemala City, Guatemala and Houston, Texas. We are a military family and San Antonio was our last duty station; we have now lived in San Antonio for 11 years. I have taught 6th through 12th grade Math & Science. I graduated from the University of North Carolina - Wilmington with a degree in Mathematics & Statistics. Teaching Math is something I enjoy very much because Math nurtures our ability to think critically and approach problems logically. It is my hope and prayer to instill the love of learning in every child I teach, and that somehow I am a positive influence in my students' lives. I’m looking forward to a fun productive 2024-2025 school year!
