In the current climate, it is crucial to ensure that all of our Southwest Preparatory Schools are equipped with every possible advantage to protect students in the face of a hostile intruder situation. Despite law enforcement responding promptly in emergencies, the time gap between a 911 call and their arrival is a pivotal period. The district has implemented the ALICE method to teach students and staff the precise actions to take before the arrival of law enforcement when faced with an armed intruder in their school.
Southwest Preparatory School is proud to be an ALICE Certified Organization for having successfully met the requirements of the Navigate360 Certified Organization program in active response preparedness.
Creating a safe and secure environment for our students, teachers, and staff is of the utmost importance at SWPREP. Safer schools ensure the well-being of all. They also play a role in academic performance and teacher satisfaction, which is why our ALICE Organization Certification is so important. - Christinn Jean, Superintendent.
